Tuition And Fees

A student is typically enrolled for an academic year (2 semesters) and tuition is based on the number of credits scheduled each semester. The BFA program in Visual Communication typically consists of 4.5 academic years. Repeat or withdrawn courses will incur additional tuition charges. Tuition and fees are subject to change.

Full Time Tuition

Full time enrollment is defined as 13–15 credits per semester. Any credit above the full time maximum of 15 credits per semester will be charged at the part time tuition rate.

Tuition and fees listed below apply to new BFA students enrolled for the 2011–2012 academic year. Continuing students should see the Financial Aid Officer or Finance Director for their applicable tuition rate.

Part Time Tuition

Part time enrollment is defined as less than 13 credits per semester.

Part Time Tuition Charge per credit $800

Note: A single class is typically 2 credits / $1,600 or 3 credits $2,400 See program grids for information on individual course credits.

Tuition Payment Plans

Payment plans are available for those who qualify, please contact the Finance Director for details. These plans do not include art materials, kits, or books.

Art Supplies

Students are required to furnish their own art supplies during the program. The estimated cost of consumable art supplies is $125–$300 per month and the estimated cost of text books is $300–$500 per semester. Purchases should be made before the semester begins. At the instructors’ discretion, students may be marked absent if they attempt to attend classes without required books and supplies.

Atelier Art Supply (located on the NCA campus) provides a starting art kit for all freshmen at a discounted price per kit if purchased by the published deadline date. Check the NCA web site for details at www.nca.edu. Contact Atelier Art at (360)779-9993.
