Mission and Philosophy
The creative spirit has shaped, designed, and created much of what we value in our visual world. Become the artist you know you can be at Northwest College of Art.

Mission

The primary objective of Northwest College of Art is to play a significant educational role in preparing individuals for rewarding entry level career opportunities in the creative arts. Our faculty of professional educators, working artists and designers guide students through a curriculum that is designed to develop technical expertise and encourage creative excellence. Classes are kept small (maximum 30 students per instructor in a typical class setting) to ensure a personal approach to education. While the average NCA student is between the ages of 18 and 25 and typically first career bound, NCA also welcomes returning students who are ready to fulfill their creative ambitions.

Philosophy

At Northwest College of Art we are committed to providing a high quality education, enabling graduates to reach their career and life goals through the acquisition of knowledge and practical training that meets the needs of business and industry. Our philosophy is to inspire students to continually strive for excellence and to always seek to achieve their maximum personal potential.

We believe our students are active partners and participants in their learning process, enhanced through effective and professional instruction. Northwest College of Art promotes education as a process of lifelong learning opportunities and encourages our students and graduates to contribute to society as thoughtful and responsible citizens and creative artists.
